A Blessing for Transfiguration Sunday

May the God whose face we cannot see
overshadow you with the cloud of his presence
and surround you with his love.

May Christ lead you up the mountainside
to experience that holy oneness with God,
             and may you be willing

when all is done
to follow him back down to the plains,
back down into the suffering world.

May you be transformed into a dazzling display of his glory
to bring light into darkness,
to bring warmth to cold and lonely lives,
to illuminate the world with the light of the Spirit.
