April Anomalies A-Z: Mammon

No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.  Matthew 6:24

A Collect:

Oh Mammon, thou who has always sought for immeasurably more, give us, your starving children, a portion of the treasure that we have wrested from the breast of the earth that we might buy bread for our children, lest they die; through the Golden Calf who is your son and who came out of the fire for thee, and by your Spirit of Desire, she’s the dollars and she’s the protection, one God forever and ever. Amen.

This is part of April Anomalies A-Z, a creative writing exercise and not intended to be an altogether accurate picture of the creature described above.
