Peace Be With You - A New Hymn

Once again I'm trying my hand at hymnody - writing new hymns or, at least, new words for old hymn tunes.  This week I'm working with John 20: 19 - 22 and the hymn tune Galilee by William H. Jude.

It's yours if you like it.

Peace Be With You

Even locked doors cannot stop him
for he found them where they hid;
in a closed room the disciples
saw him as their risen Lord.

Stretching out his hands he showed them
the wounds that still remained;
then he breathed his spirit on them
and he said, “Peace be with you.”

Are you lonely? Are you frightened?
Have you locked yourself away?
Are you angry? Are you grieving?
There is peace in him today.
