Exploring the Mysteries and Difficulties and Ambiguities of Scripture

I made the following statement earlier today in a FB discussion concerning homosexuality and the Greek word Arsenokoitai.  I'm not often eloquent, and rarely pithy, but occasionally I say something worth putting down.

Exploring the mysteries and difficulties and ambiguities - and taking them seriously -isn't a dismissal of scripture, it's the highest way to consider them.  To allow the ambiguities to be ambiguities allows the scripture to be scripture.  To dissolve those ambiguities for the sake of "doctrinal authority" dissolves scripture.
