First Snow (Harbinger of Things To Come)

The first snow of the season lasted longer than I expected it would - covering the ground for most of the day before melting away.  It's gone for now, but those first flakes (strong survivors that they were) are harbingers of more to come.  Soon the skies will be thick with flurries, and the streets smeared with dark sooted snow.
