We Are One

We are one in the Spirit, yes
and one in the Lord,
one blood, one body,
one love between us all

and yet I am alone

Shared faith and uniform
is not a shared experience
I do not know what you mean
when you say the Spirit moved

We move together
pray together
sing together

and yet I am alone
from you
from God

You are joyful, arms raised to heaven
what can I raise except doubt
and longing

but I am here
and you are here
and God is here

and we are one
