Dispatched – a Pretentious Movie Review
Dispatched, the latest film by self styled auteur, Thom Stark, is a bleakly dystopian film set in the not too distant future, in a world where the paranoid citizens of a brutal police state live in perpetual fear. Stark seems to be striving for biting satire and social commentary; what he has delivered is ham fisted sloganeering and liberal propaganda. This pretentious, over-long film is weighted down with one movie cliché after another. But not even cgi special effects and quick cuts can save this bloated, over-budget flop. Someone call 9-11; this movie is a crime.
The soundtrack by Kevin MacLeod was very nice.
