An Empty Minaret

The mosque to which this minaret (which which means "lighthouse") is attached is next to our hotel in Tiberias. But it is empty.  There is no muezzin calling out the adhan (call to worship - the word means "listen") five times during the day.

And it has been empty for some time, apparently.  I poked my head in the windows of the building as my wife and I walked past it this morning.  All that is inside now is dust and cats and a few pigeons.
