The Real War on Christmas

We hear every year about the alleged 'war on Christmas.'  There is much wailing and moaning, histrionics like you wouldn't believe - right up until December 25th - and then, apparently, the war is over.  The debate between "Happy Holidays" and "Merry Christmas" is tabled. The hysteria is dialed back down to normal levels.

But, I say, the REAL war on Christmas is waged by those who believe that Christmas begins at any time before December 24th and ends any time before January 6 (or whatever date Epiphany falls that year)  - and there are some who would extend that later date to February 2 and the Feast of the Presentation.

So... Merry Christmas for a few more days yet.
