I had the opportunity to share another song I wrote at church this morning. Look for me at about the 50 minute mark.
Singing Hymns in the Rain
Come thou fount of every blessing
tune my heart to sing thy grace;
streams of mercy, never ceasing,
for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
mount of thy redeeming love.
How firm a foundation
Great is thy faithfulness
My life must be Christ’s broken bread
Take my life and let it be
Love divine, all loves excelling
When I survey the wondrous cross
Lead on, O King Eternal
Blessed be the tie that binds.
O to grace how great a debtor
daily I’m constrained to be!
Let thy goodness like a fetter,
bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
prone to leave the God I love;
here’s my heart, o take and seal it,
seal it for thy courts above.
I want to sing the hymns I learned
when I was still a younger man.
I want to sing them faithfully
without the doubts that crowd me now.
So here I am with a song to sing.
Here I am with a melody.
Here I am with my fragile voice
singing hymns in the rain.
